Museum Quality Wedding Dress Cleaning

wedding dress cleaning process

After your gown is safely checked into our GownTracker™ system and all stains and fabric materials are identified, your gown begins the gentle cleaning process to remove all stains that occurred on your wedding day.

Our wedding dress cleaning technology, called SYSTEMK4 is far superior to the dangerous chemicals found at your corner dry cleaning facility.  While traditional dry cleaning chemicals such as PERC are effective on cotton and polyester fabrics, PERC will often cause permanent damage to delicate fabrics such as silk and satin – causing them to become grayed and brittle.  SYSTEMK4, on the other hand, is completely organic and even more effective at removing deep set stains and yellowing.  The cleaning process is comprised of 3 steps that work together to remove stains, renew fabrics and protect your gown as it is in storage over the years.

SYSTEMK4 is Effective in Removing the Following Stains:
  • Sugar Stains
  • Dirt Stains
  • Grass Stains
  • Pen Marks
  • Blood/Sweat Stains
  • Food Stains
  • Lipstick/Makeup Stains
  • Fabric Yellowing
SYSTEMK4 is Comprised of the Following Elements:
PRENETTK4 – The Brushing Agent

For heavily soiled gowns, SYSTEMK4 offers a unique brushing agent, PRENETTK4.  It reliably removes soil such as sweat stains or grass and soil stains that may have occurred around the hem of your wedding dress on your big day.  PRENETTK4 is VOC-free (safe for the environment) and leaves your gown unscented.  Within the subset of this product are other spotting agents that remove specific stains ranging from sugar to body oils and sweat.

CLIPK4 – The Detergent Concentrate

CLIPK4 is a highly concentrated dry cleaning detergent which has won awards for its excellent performance in cleaning and leaving fabrics with long lasting hygienic freshness.  CLIPK4 protects for the long term against future yellowing of your gown and has excellent anti-static properties which cause whites to stay whiter and colors to retain their vibrant appearance.  CLIPK4 has proven save and extremely effective in cleaning delicate fabrics:

  • Batiste
  • Brocade
  • Charmeuse
  • Chiffon
  • Crepe
  • Damask
  • Duchesse Satin
  • Dupioni
  • Faille
  • Gabardine

  • Silk

VINOYK4 – Water & Stain Repellent Agent

The last step in the process is VINOYK4 which helps fabric repel both water and any future staining that may occur.  Imagine your gown coming back to you looking like the day you purchased it at the bridal salon plus knowing that it has an amazing new ability to fight any future stains!  That’s what you’ll get with the SYSTEMK4

What Does all of this Mean for Your Wedding Dress?

Frequently Asked Questions about Our Wedding Dress Cleaning Process

SYSTEMK4 is the safest and most effective sensitive fabric treatment process in the world. To better serve customers, the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. was one of the first dry cleaning companies in the US to integrate this revolutionary technology to better serve brides. Not only is the system safe for your gown, it is also much more effective in treating stains than the often damaging chemical, PERC, that local dry cleaners continue to use.

While very rare, if a stain is unable to be removed we will reach out to you with the next available steps we can take to treat your gown. Our fabric experts take pride in implementing every process they can to remove a stain without risking fabric damage

No, all gowns that are processed go through the same meticulous cleaning treatment.

Absolutely! We have cleaned and preserved wedding dresses that are over 100 years old. See our wedding dress before and after gallery to see examples for yourself

Everyone on the preservation team is continually trained on the best techniques to handle everything from flood damage to smoke damage and beyond. The team has restored gowns sent in by brides who were worried their dress was damaged beyond repair.

The final step of the SYSTEMK4 process applies an invisible coating to your gown that helps prevent future yellowing. This step will even help protect your gown from future stains if the dress is worn again.
